Boteco Princesa

Come with me to lunch at Boteco Princesa in the Leblon neighborhood of Rio. Botecos are little street-side bars all over Rio, and what I love the most about Boteco culture is the food. Imagine a place where the beer is cold, but the food is as nourishing as a home-cooked meal. In addition to typical bar bites, like this to-die-for Shrimp Pastel, you can choose from a menu of traditional plates, including my beloved Prato Feito, which they affectionately call “Grandma’s plate.” The staff is so incredibly friendly and attentive, the decor is modern with traditional touches, and the vibe is oh so Carioca. We came, we ate, and we lingered at this table from beer to cafezinho. Love love!
