Hi, I’m Camille, that’s me in blue and that’s Vivi in white, my childhood friend from Rio. By the way she designed our outfits for her brand @dyemeplease. I’ve lived in the US for over twenty years and when I come to Rio I want to find the flavors of my childhood. I have a theory that no matter the cuisine, it is better here, for the simple fact that we make it with our “brasilidade.” For example, @ellapizzaria was highly recommended by Vivi and others for various reasons. It’s Neapolitan style pizza and follows strict Neapolitan rules for technique. Did you know that the Art of Neapolitan pizza makers is inscribed in the Unesco Intangible Cultural Heritage list? But I of course, wanted a pizza with very Brazilian toppings. I chose Frango com Catupiry, or Chicken with Catupiry Cheese, and how I love this combination which is impossible to find outside of Brazil. And the carioca vibe is always on point when dining in Rio, especially here with the cozy decor and this lovely wine to sip on.
